BOGOTA, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Washington's latest quarrel with China over the latter's technological advances, and its attempts to meddle with China's domestic affairs have met with wise discretion of Chinese officials, Colombian political observer Lorenzo Maggiorelli has said.
The air route will be flown by a Boeing 737-800 airplane every Thursday, from Aug. 20 to Oct. 24, with up to 140 seats on each flight.
The so-called "Report on Protecting United States Investors from Significant Risks from Chinese Companies" has recommendations such as enhancing listing standards on U.S. exchanges for access to audit work papers.
China is committed to the policy of "one country, two systems," Wang reiterated, saying that with the strong support from the mainland, an improved legal environment, and the united efforts of the Hong Kong compatriots, China can surely uphold and better implement the policy of "one country, two systems."
The shipment includes 368,300 masks and 94.9 tonnes of melt-blown non-woven fabric, an essential material for manufacturing medical masks.
But its efforts to sow discord are likely to fail, noted Maggiorelli, because "the United States no longer has as much power as before, and European, Asian, African and Latin American countries want to cooperate with both countries and maintain peaceful relations."
The Philippines advocates peaceful settlement of relevant disputes through legal means, Lorenzana said.
The rise in cases has been blamed on the easing of lockdown regulations by authorities and non-compliance of prevention measures. The epidemic has flared up in some communities.
Speaking of the BRI, Cambodia has greatly benefited from the cooperation with China under this framework, Sorasak said, adding that from physical infrastructure, connectivity development to trade and tourism, the BRI has brought about significant contributions to its economy.
According to Jaime Suarez, executive director of the Colombia-China Chamber of Investment and Commerce, "trade wars are not promising or positive for either party."
Fourth, abandon the zero-sum mentality and stand up to shared responsibilities. "Our world still faces many global challenges. Traditional and non-traditional security challenges are intertwined. Almost all regional and international hotspot issues require a coordinated response from China, the United States and other countries," he said.
