MANILA, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- China, through its Embassy in Manila, has donated 130 ventilators to the Philippines as part of its commitment to helping the country fighting the COVID-19 COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese Embassy said on Thursday.
Wang said that China-U.S. relations are facing the gravest challenge since the establishment of diplomatic ties, and their exchanges and cooperation in many areas are being seriously disrupted.
As a result, the relationship between the world's top two economies now faces what Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi recently described as the most serious challenge since the two sides forged diplomatic ties 40 years ago.
"China-U.S. cooperation has never been a case of one party giving favor to the other, or one party taking advantage of the other. Both countries have benefited much from this cooperation," he stressed
The two countries are unlikely to have greater confrontation since "for purely economic reasons, it is not convenient for them to enter into a dangerous escalation," said Carrion.
Zhao made the remarks at a press briefing when asked to make comment on U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, who said during his visit to Taiwan that China "chose not to" warn the world about COVID-19 and betrayed the cooperative spirit needed for global health.
In most cases, the so-called U.S. national security concerns are ordinary economic or trade disputes which can be reasonably solved through bilateral or multilateral negotiations. However, Washington is now obsessed with flexing its muscles, regardless of hurting partnerships or violating market principles and international norms.
"We are always ready to develop a China-U.S. relationship featuring no conflict, no confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation based on coordination, cooperation and stability," he added.
"The construction of the Iconic Tower structure has reached the 30th floor, and the progress of the project has hardly been affected by the epidemic," Chinese Ambassador to Cairo Liao Liqiang told a press conference in June.
U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday issued an executive order banning any U.S. transactions with the Chinese tech firm ByteDance, owner of TikTok, starting in 45 days.
"The root cause is that some American politicians who are biased against and hostile to China are using their power to smear China with fabrications and impede normal ties with China under various pretexts," said Wang, pointing out that such American politicians ultimately want to drag China and the United States into renewed conflict and confrontation and plunge the world into chaos and division again.
